Xiaomi announced to launching Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in China on December 7th

Xiaomi has been working on its next-generation Redmi phones for some time and the upcoming Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus have been subject to numerous leaks in recent weeks. However, now the brand has put an end to all speculation and has announced that both smart phones will be launched in China on December 7.

The teaser image shared by Xiaomi shows a front panel with an 18: 9 screen, a metal body and a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back. The same has been confirmed by a list of China Telecom, which also reveals the main specifications of Redmi 5. It is expected that the device will be sent with a 5.7-inch screen with HD + resolution and an aspect ratio of 18: 9. However, the body-to-body ratio of the phone seems to be on a lower side, as it still has perceptible bevels everywhere.

The device will work with the SoC MSM8953, which refers to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. This will be combined with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage. In the optics department, you get a 12 megapixel main camera module with LED flash and a 5 megapixel selfie camera with a soft LED flash. In the images, we can also see the exclusive Redmi metal body, the fingerprint scanner mounted on the back and the micro-USB port on the bottom with the loudspeaker grille. It is expected to run MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat and with a battery of 3,300 mAh. As for Redmi 5 Plus, we can expect it to be a slightly increased variant of the Redmi 5 Plus with the same 18: 9 screen and a larger battery.
