Nokia 7 Plus receiving September 1 security and maintenance release update too

The Nokia 7 Plus was announced in February 2018 and went on sale in April of that year. According to Nokia's official update tracker, it has received 40 software updates as of this September 2. A new one has just been launched, although it has not yet reached the tracker.

The build number is 00WW_4_16B and it is a maintenance release so it is not only the latest security patch, but also bug fixes and so on. Of course, a security patch is included, dated September 1. Don't get your hopes up, the new version is still based on Android 10.

The Nokia 7 Plus was launched in 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo and as part of the Android One program, it has been continuously updated in terms of software. It got Android Pie in late September 2018, while Android 10 arrived in January 2020. However, we doubt that Android 11 is on the phone's nearly three-year timeline, judging by this official tweet.
