Xiaomi confirms much awaited Mi5 flagship smartphone will be made official on February 24, which is about 1.5 years after its predecessor Mi 4 was launched.
The confirmation came in the form of a Weibo post today co-founder and Senior VP Chinese company Liwan Jiang. He said that the handset will be released in the Spring Conference of the company, which is scheduled for February 24. More details about the event will be announced next Tuesday - 26 January.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi filter slide is making rounds online, which reveals that the main launch event is two hours (14: 00-16: 00). This has led to speculation that several devices can be announced during the event, although there is currently no information to any other device launch with the Mi5.
