
Although there have been reports of cyanogen releasing cyanogen 12 OS runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop in the coming weeks, here is an official confirmation that will be available in India, too. Responding to a question on Twitter, OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei revealed that the new update CM 12S will be launched as updating OTA.
Also available to users OnePlus One smartphones in India as an upgrade over the air, said more. It remains to be seen whether the company will release the new update, considering the ongoing struggle between Micromax and OnePlus.
If you remember, before the release of the smartphone Yu Yureka (a new adventure by Micromax will focus on smartphones cyanogen based OS), the company had gone to court for smartphones banned OnePlus One India (the latter had then recently launched in India via Amazon.in).
The whole episode painted both cyanogen and Micromax in bad light, as Indian users who planned to buy OnePlus One felt that no longer would get OTA updates to the company.
However, shortly after a blog, cyanogen said, "to clarify the misinformation out there, get OnePlus One OTA firmware updates for all global devices, including the global devices to our users in India."
OnePlus One has received accolades and the company recently announced 16GB white silk OnePlus A model in India, available exclusively at Amazon.in to Rs 18,999.
