Finally, Samsung has launched its latest and much anticipated flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Galaxy Edge, India. The 32GB Galaxy S6 is priced at Rs 49,900, 64 GB at Rs 55,900 and 128 GB at Rs 61,900. The 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB Galaxy S6 Edge have been priced at Rs 58,900, 64,900 and 70,900, respectively.
Smart phones shipping in India will start from April 10 and is now available for pre-order. Users who pre-book the Galaxy S6 / Edge also get benefits as a replacement screen once with recovery points if the company is planning a cash back scheme to trade in the future.
Coming to the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Quad sports a 5.1-inch HD Super AMOLOED screen resolution of 2560 X 1440 it reaches a very high pixel density of 577ppi. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge also has a 5.1 inch HD Super AMOLED Quad, but with double edge indication. Both use Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. The Galaxy Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has a metal frame and glass body, both front and back.
The devices work with Exynos processor 7 Octa-core Samsung, which contains two quad-core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz and 1.5 GHz, respectively. Smart phones have 3 GB of RAM.
Both smartphones also use the mobile processor 14 namometer with a 64-bit platform, the new system memory and flash memory LPDDR4 UFS 2.0, which the company says will provide greater performance and higher memory speed with lower power consumption .
The devices work with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop and come with a 16MP rear camera along with a front facing 5MP camera. The Galaxy S6 features a 2,550mAh battery, while the Edge Samsung Galaxy S6 features a 2,600mAh battery. Both support the universal wireless charging. Samsung also claims that they support charging cable incredibly fast (about 1.5 times faster than the Galaxy S5) which provides about 4 hours of use after only 10 minutes of charging.
In terms of connectivity devices compatible with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac (2.4 / 5GHz), HT80 MIMO (2 × 2) 620Mbps, Bluetooth v4.1, USB 2.0, NFC and IR remote control.
