Gionee announced the Elife S7, the successor to its slim line phone - Elife S5.5 and Elife S5.1 - at MWC March 2. Today, at an event in Hyderabad, Gionee announced the phone to the Indian market at Rs 24999.
Gionee Elife S7 is a dual SIM phone that looks edges 5.5 mm thick and comes with a Super AMOLED screen 5.2-inch full HD. MediaTek houses the 64-bit SoC having a processor octa-core 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, you get 16 GB of space.
This is the first smartphone to come with Android 5.0 Gionee Lollipop outside the box that will owns Friend Gionee 3.0 skin on top. In terms of connectivity the Elife S7 come with 2G / 3G / 4G LTE, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and Hi-Fi audio.
On the front of the camera, you will receive a 13MP rear snapper which will employ new image processing system Gionee. This new processing system allows the S7 to capture about 6 frames per second. As one of its predecessor, the Elife E7, the Gionee Elife S7 also come with a front facing 8MP camera.
Besides its slim-line phones, Gionee is also considering the launch of its next flagship of this year. The company is planning a worldwide release for the successor to its popular flagship device Elife E7. Speaking to Times of India, President Gionee William Lu confirmed that the new flagship phone company - Gionee Elife E8 - will be released worldwide in June, including India. The company will launch its new flagship smartphone after a gap of nearly 18 months of Elife E7. Explaining the reason for the split, President Gionee stated that the next model is not supposed to be a 'Further improvement', but it would take a completely new design that 'compete with the best. "
