Beating the record set by Gionee Elife S5.1, launched the new Oppo Oppo R5, which now holds the position of prestige as the world's slimmest phone. The flagship model was unveiled at a big event yesterday and the company has fixed the price is $ 499 without a contract, which would be about Rs. 30,500 in India. No word on when the phone will go on sale in the country, but we would expect it to be around the corner, most likely before the end of the year.
It is powered by a quad-core processor combined with another 2.1 GHz quad-core processor at 1.5 GHz with 2 GB of RAM. The phone comes with Adreno 405 GPU to power all the latest games. It has a strong 13-megapixel camera in the rear combined with a 5 megapixel camera on the front. No LED flash on the back for taking pictures in dark conditions. The phone has a 2000 mAh battery and has all the connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, 4G LTE and micro USB port. The Oppo R5 weighs 155 grams, which is quite clear and should not cause any fatigue. We will keep you updated once it is available in India.
