Vivo has expanded its low-cost smartphone series Y into its domestic market in China with the launch of the Y79. The phone is essentially the renamed version of Vivo V7 + (revision), which was launched in India earlier this year. The Y79 comes with a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, compared to the Vivo V7 + with Snapdragon 450. The rest of the specifications of the Y79 are the same as those of the Vivo V7 +.
The Vivo Y79 comes with a 5.99-inch screen with almost no bezel, with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18: 9. In addition to the FullView screen, the other prominent feature of the phone is a 24-megapixel camera on the front with flash selfie Moonlight. On the back, the phone is equipped with a 16 megapixel snapper that features an LED flash, phase detection autofocus and compatibility with 64MB ultra HD images by combining four images into one.
As for the other specifications, the Vivo Y79 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core 2.0GHz processor, paired with 4GB of RAM. The storage capacity on board is 64 GB, which can be further increased by inserting a microSD card. As for software, the device starts Android 7.1.1 Nouvel based on Funtouch OS, and gets a "Do Not Disturb" mode for games, which prevents interruptions of calls and messages, etc., when playing games.
Connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS. A 3,225mAh battery keeps the whole package alive. The device has a completely metallic monoblock design with a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back.

The Vivo Y79 is priced at Rs 24,400, and will be available in China at Vivo Mall, the official Vivo stores, at TMall and JD.com starting November 11. The device is available in four colors: black, pink gold, matt black and champagne gold.
