The Chinese phone maker, Gionee, mocked the M7 Power smartphone in the country before sending press invitations for an event on November 15. Presented in China in September, the M7 Power is the first of the brand to offer an 18: 9 screen. Gionee now launched the smartphone at an event held in New Delhi, India.
In short, the Gionee M7 Power ships with a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels with curved 2.5D glass on the top. Like the latest smartphones on the market, the latest release comes with a minimum of bevels across the screen and, as such, has a smaller footprint despite the size of the screen. Moving on to the second highlight of the device, the 'Power' in the name refers to the massive 5,000mAh battery under the rear panel. Depending on the brand, the battery can last for a couple of days and also supports a fast charge.
In terms of performance, the Gionee M7 Power is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core 1.4 GHz processor, coupled with Adreno 505 graphics and 4 GB of RAM. There is 64 GB of storage on board and the phone supports up to 256 GB of microSD card. For images, there is a main 13-megapixel shooter with autofocus phase detection and a LED flash and an 8-megapixel front snapper. Out of the box, the metal-clad phone booted Amigo OS 5.0 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. In terms of connectivity, the phone boasts dual SIM slots, 4G VoLTE (voice over LTE), dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and GPS with GLONASS.
The brand is offering the M7 Power in India in shades of blue, black and gold. It is priced at Rs 16,999 and will be available on several online and offline channels as of November 25. As part of the launch offer, M7 Power buyers will receive 10 GB of additional Reliance Jio 4G data in up to 10 reloads of 309 rupees or more.
