Today YU took the wraps off its latest creation for the Indian market, the Yureka 2. Despite what its name may allege, this is in fact the sixth Yureka-branded phone, following the original Yureka, the Yureka Plus, the Yureka Note, Yureka S, and Yureka Black.
The Yureka 2 features a 5.5-inch and 1080p IPS touchscreen, Snapdragon 625 chipset with 2 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage and a 3,930 mAh battery.
Its main camera is a 16 MP unit with LED flash, while the selfies are serviced by an 8 MP shooter in the front. A fingerprint sensor is on the back of the phone, and the 4G LTE cradle is built-in. The dimensions of the Yureka 2 are 152.6 x 76.5 x 8.15 mm. It will be available on September 20th, exclusively from Flipkart, for Rs 11,999.
There is only one problem here. The Yureka YU 2 will hit the market with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. That version of the operating system was released in 2015. Two years ago. Devices that are directly compatible with Google are already in Android 8.0 Oreo. Will the affordable price of Yureka 2 make people ignore this fact? We'll have to wait and see.
