A few days ago, Honor V9 was seen online at TENAA, which revealed quite a bit about the device, and we expected a lot more leaks and rumors before the device reaches the platform. However, giving the leaksters no time, Huawei has released a teaser announcing the launch of the successor Honor V8 on February 21.
Now, the poster does not reveal much more than this, but is set against an ocean water background, which could indicate the water resistant capacities in the device. That also makes sense because, according to the TechRadar report, Chinese swimmer Sun Yang will serve as the V9 Honor spokesman..
Apart from that, from previous leaks we know that Honor V9 will have a unibody metal design, and the front panel of the device will come sans the start button. Instead, the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint sensor will sit on the back panel of the phone.
On the spec front, the Honor V9 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch high-resolution touchscreen display that offers 2560 × 1440 pixel resolution. At heart it will be an octa-core SoC with 2.4GHz clock. Details on the type of chipset are currently scarce. It is expected that there will be two V9 Honor variants based on storage and RAM. We could see a variant with 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage, and one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
As for photography, the Honor V9 is expected to include a combination of 12-megapixel camera with 2-megapixel camera on the back offering high-quality images such as DSLR. For selfies, it is expected to have an 8-megapixel front camera. It will be powered by a 3.900mAh battery and in front of software, it will run Android 7.0 Nougat with Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0.
