Samsung Galaxy S8 come with no Home key and RGB AMOLED display

Samsung's next flagship is unprecedented, and its premiere is shaping up to be the company's most important to date due to pressure after the Note7 fiasco. We've heard a lot of different rumors - about screen size and resolution, processor, camera, fingerprint, loudspeakers. The most common specifications shared between all reports are the latest Snapdragon 830 and Exynos chips, both made in a 10nm process.

Today's report holds that the Galaxy S8 will maintain its Quad HD resolution, but will use an RGB Super AMOLED panel instead of one based on Diamond PenTile. If true, it means that there will be 50% more sub pixels, which will result in greater sharpness and better image quality. The biggest gain will be in VR, of course, as the image will be noticeably sharper than that produced by the Galaxy S7 or the S7 edge inside a GearVR.

There is more good news - the new panel will be made of stronger materials and will make it harder to damage or break. The new rumor does not confirm, or refute, the above information on two different models with 5.7 "and 6.2" screen sizes.

But he does insist that Samsung leave the Home key and opt for a fingerprint ID below the screen, probably based on Qualcomm's ultrasonic biometric technology. The Galaxy S8 should be announced in February and expected to hit shelves in March.
