iPhone users gets WhatsApp voice calling feature

After announcing the introduction of a function of voice calls in your application for Android back in late March, WhatsApp is now extending the same function for iPhone application. WhatsApp Messenger version 2.12.1 brings voice calls over the Internet to all iPhones with iOS version 6 or higher.

This is not a surprising decision, for direct messaging owned by Facebook: back to late March at the F8 developer conference, WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton announced that voice calls are just a few weeks away from reaching the application for the iPhone, and it seems like this was an accurate estimate.
The changelog notes that the new version of WhatsApp roll slowly over the next few weeks, which means it may take some time before the update arrives to your device. If you are impatient with the new feature before the update reaches you, here's a way to allow voice calling WhatsApp on your iPhone, but keep in mind you'll need to install a beta version of the application manually.

After landing on both iOS and Android, the new feature is planned to be ported to the third mobile platform market share, Windows Phone. Rumors date back to April 2014 argued that voice calls WhatsApps also reach the BlackBerry operating system, but so far we have yet to hear of any particular plan.
