April 1 could be April Fool's Day, but it is no laughing matter for Verizon customers looking to buy the Samsung Galaxy Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. Both phones at the top of the list of "Top smartphones at MWC 2015," made a big impression in Barcelona after being introduced by Samsung last weekend.
Big Red is the first to arrive at a date to begin accepting pre-orders. T-Mobile, Sprint and AT & T have started taking email addresses for registration. But unlike pre-orders, no money changes hands. Those who pre-register will receive an email when the two new models are available to be pre-ordered for each specific carrier.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 features a Super AMOLED screen of 5.1 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. That gives a pixel density of 577ppi. Under the hood is a 64-bit octa-core 2.1GHz Exynos 7420 CPU. 3 GB of RAM is on board with 32GB native / 64GB / 128GB storage. A micro SD slot for those who need more memory? Not this time. The microSD slot is a victim of the new approach of Samsung in form over function. 16MP rear snapper comes with an aperture of f / 1.9, allowing great shots in low light. It also comes with OIS. A 5MP "shooter timer" adorns the front of the phone. Android 5.0 is pre-installed.
The differences with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and edge Samsung Galaxy S6 include curved glass on both sides of the latter model. The edge of the galaxy S6 also features a 2600mAh battery, 50mAh on cell S6 normal galaxy. Both phones also have different dimensions. Both phones have more in common than differences. One thing they share is the April 1 date pre-order through Verizon. The exact release date (April 10 has been very fashionable) and the price is still unknown.
