The Lumia 640 XL was announced by Microsoft earlier this month at MWC 2015, being the most expensive Lumia 640. Even if it is larger and slightly better in some things like photography variant, the 640 XL uses Snapdragon same 1.2 GHz processor 400 640, while also having the same amount of RAM: 1GB. However, it seems that the Chinese version of the Lumia 640 XL brings improvements in these two departments.
According to the Center for Telecommunications Equipment Certification of China, which recently passed a TD-LTE version of the Lumia 640 XL, the phone comes with 2 GB of RAM and a quad-core processor clock speed of 2.2 GHz (this definitely is not a Snapdragon 400, but it is unclear what model it is). These changes obviously must make to China, 640 XL superior device. The rest of its features appear to have remained unchanged, and including a 5.7-inch 720p display, 5MP front camera, 13 MP rear camera, and 8GB of expandable storage space.
Like the Lumia 640, XL 640 will run Windows Phone 8.1 at launch, with an update to Windows 10 which comes later this year (probably sometime in the summer).
Microsoft will launch the Lumia 640 XL in April, prices starting at around $ 220. We do not know if the most powerful version of the phone will be available outside China, but we will know when we found out.
