HDM Global launched Nokia 2 with 5-inch HD display and massive 4,100mAh battery in India for Rs 6,999

Last month, HMD Global announced its most affordable smartphone to date, the Nokia 2, at an event in New Delhi, India. Shortly after the presentation, the phone went on sale in select markets such as the United States and Russia for $ 99. Today, the company launched the Nokia 2 in India. The phone is priced at Rs 6,999 and will go on sale in the country through the main brick and mortar retailers as of November 24.

For the uninitiated, the Nokia 2 (first impressions) has a premium design with a frame made of a single block of 6000 Series aluminum and a polycarbonate back panel. The phone has a 5-inch HD LTPS screen with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, coupled with 1 GB of RAM and Adreno 304 graphics. The on-board storage is 8 GB, which can be further increased to 128 GB by the insertion of a microSD card.

The camera department in the Nokia 2 includes an 8-megapixel main trigger with an LED flash and a 5 megapixel secondary snapper for selfies. In terms of connectivity, the device has 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual SIM slots, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. One of the highlights of the phone is its massive battery of 4,100 mAh, which promises to deliver up to two days of regular use. As far as the software is concerned, the mobile phone has Android 7.1.1 Nougat stock, and will receive the Android Oreo update in the near future.
