STK, the mobile brand based in London has announced that it will enter the mobile phone market in India later this month. The brand currently sells its devices in the United Kingdom, Latin America, Middle East and selected African countries. The company will operate in India under the brand STK phones, and plans to launch more than 10 mobile phones in the country in late 2016.
The STK hero X will be one of the first smartphones that will be launching the brand in the country. Priced at Rs 9999, the hero X has a unibody design premium metal. The phone comes with a high definition 5 inches screen with a 2.5D glass on top. It is powered by a 1.0 GHz processor quad-core MediaTek MT6735P, with the help of 2 GB of RAM. Other features of the device include 16GB of expandable storage, 13MP rear snapper, a shooting game in front of 8MP Dual-SIM slots hybrids, 4G LTE, and 2,050mAh battery. On the software side, it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and comes with STK Care application to control the use of background applications and application permissions.
STK has plans to establish R & D and manufacturing facility in India soon. Brand Android smartphones will be sold at Rs 2,999 to Rs 10,000 sub-price range in the country. In addition, its goal is to be among the top three brands online sales in the country within two to three years.
