OnePlus has begun the deployment of cyanogen OS 12.1 update for all OnePlus One users. The latest update is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and is gradually being implemented through OTA. The company reports that "the update provides fixes critical security for your device to deal with the recently publicized on Android devices vulnerabilities. This points to a possible patch to the latest edition Stagefright that plagued Android devices. This patch has already been released for oxygen users OS.
The update is approximately 640MB and OnePlus alerts users to fully charge the smartphone before installing the update. Android Police reports that the update has been received by users just 2 percent so far, but will be available to users more gradually.
It is recommended to free up some space in the OnePlus One, and install the update through a strong Wi-Fi. Users will be notified when they receive OS 12.1 cyanogen OTA update, but you can even check manually in the Settings tab.
