Canonical today announced the launch of its smart phones running Ubuntu in India. The Aquaris Aquaris E5 E4.5 and will go on sale later this month exclusively through SnapDeal. Smart phones are priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 13,499, respectively.
The talk of this smartphone is undoubtedly the Ubuntu operating system. The operating system is big gestures, and has a concept called Scopes. This includes visually rich panels that add and display content such as Weather, Music or News. The company has also made these customizable panels for handset manufacturers and operators. Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition specifications :
The Aquaris E4.5 was the first smartphone with Ubuntu engine ever launched earlier this year. It sports a 4.5-inch qHD (960 × 540 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 MediaTek paired with 1GB of RAM.
Also offered is the internal memory of 8 GB which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. It also has 8-megapixel f / 2.4 rear camera with dual flash, front camera of 5 megapixels and a 2,150mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual SIM card slots, support 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition specifications :
This was the second Ubuntu smartphone launched in June this year. 5 inches display of high-definition (1280 × 720 pixels) screen with Dragontrail glass is made, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 MediaTek paired with Mali-400 MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
Also offered is the internal memory of 16 GB which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. It also has a 13-megapixel f / 2.2 rear camera with dual flash, front camera of 5 megapixels, and a battery of 2500 mAh. Connectivity options include dual SIM card slots, support 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
