Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Verizon is getting the Android 5.0 update. According to Big Red, the update includes the new "complex animations and 3D views" Design of Materials. Lock screen notifications are included with Android 5.0 as the new menu "Recent Apps", the compiler ART 64-Bit opens applications faster, and the "Floating Action" button is used to write a new text message or email mail, or to add a new contact or calendar event. The update also improves TouchWiz, giving a touch of design materials.
The Android 5.0 update for Verizon Galaxy Note 3 weighs a strong 117MB, which means you must be in a Wi-Fi connection when downloading and installation. The carrier says it will take 8 minutes to prepare the device for the update, and another 14 minutes to install Android 5.0 on your phablet. Make sure your battery is charged to at least 50%.
You will need 1.7 GB of free space to update the phone and was told to make more space if needed. Also, because this is being shipped in echelon form, which could be a few days before reality hits upgrade your phone. You can try out manually by going to Settings> About phone> Software Updates> Check for updates.
