The second generation of Google Glass could be here before you know it. The CEO of Italian eyewear maker Luxottica, Massimo Vian, spoke today in Milan and mentioned that the next release of the specifications are coming online soon. Vian company became a partner of Google in March 2014, involved in the OG Google Glass. Viam could not reveal precisely when we can expect to see the new portable generation date.
Led by Tony Fadell, who heads Google's Nest division, the second generation of glass away from portraying the device as a toy for tech nerds, and turns it into a useful product for the average citizen. And if you think this is an impossible task, you must count the number of active users of smartphones in the world today. Fadell will take their experiences sale of a consumer product in Google technology, and apply it to Google Glass.
Vian says that version 2 of the Cup is being prepared and that the team is working on glass ideas for version 3. Google Glass head Ivy Ross has previously said that the next version of the Cup would be cheaper (OG cost model $ 1,500 retail), offer a better screen and sound quality, and be equipped with a longer battery life. Unfortunately for Google, none of those things were the reason for slow sales of useable.
Instead, it was the "creepiness" factor that could have made Google Glass hard sell. With bars and restaurants that prohibit the use of clients of the online specifications, and users "Glassholes" was dubbed the biggest problem Ross is softening the image of the product into something that bullies would use to what a product with features that most people could not make it through the day without.
