China Xiaomi smartphones said Thursday it has set a new Guinness world record for sales of mobile phones by selling 2.11 million mobile phones in a flash sale of 24 hours was held to celebrate its fifth anniversary - Mi Fan Festival.
The half-day bonanza that brought in CNY 2.08 billion ($ 335 million) in sales of mobile phones and other accessories broke the previous record held by Alibaba Tmall, which sold 1.89 million phones in the Day 'Singles event in November for 24 hours.
