Xiaomi will be selling a new device in India through a flash sale March 12. Will the Xiaomi Xiaomi Redmi two or MI PAD? A contest to be word puzzle by Xiaomi could tell us the answer. The contest asks you to find three key words that relate to the device. Winners will receive a priority pass that allows them to purchase the handset without having to go through a flash sale. Given that some of the words that are included Snapdragon, expandable, matt and wide angle, seems to rule the tablet Xiaomi, which is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra SoC processor K1. That leaves the Xiaomi Redmi 2 as the device that will be offered on Thursday.
Originally released in China back in January, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 features a 4.7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280. This operates at a pixel density of 312ppi. Driving the device is 64-bit 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon CPU with Adreno 410 GPU graphics 306 crunch. 1GB of RAM is on board and there 8GB of native storage inside.
If you need more memory, which most likely will, there is a microSD slot 64GB capacity. Back and front cameras weigh 8MP and 2MP respectively. The whole shebang is powered by a 2200mAh cell and Android 4.4.4 is pre installed. An update to Android 5.0 is on the way. Although we have no price information, we do know that when the model was sold in China earlier this year, which was priced at the equivalent of $ 113 USD.
