
Following the announcement of giving some of the important features of the Office application for free, Microsoft will give prorated refunds to those who purchased the subscription of Office 365.
Previously, users had to buy Office 365 subscription in order to use Office applications on an iOS or Android device. The application was a great success on platforms other than Windows (especially iPad), as there are few productivity apps that can match the flexibility and usability of the popular Office suite from Microsoft. Buying a subscription of Office 365 gave complete access to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to help users create and edit documents on the move.
Now that the company has made free editing function for office applications, is offering a refund to those who paid before the subscription. iPad users will have to contact iTunes Store Support for a refund. Others may unsubscribe Office 365 and receive a prorated refund for the remaining unused days from the date of cancellation and the date of completion of subscription through Microsoft accounts and billing agent. Premium features, including full Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote) on PC and Mac, storage OneDrive unlimited Skype calls still require a subscription, however. Similarly, use for commercial purposes also requires a subscription to Office 365.
