The next model number of Sony's flagship smartphone H8541 has appeared on Reddit revealing most of the phone's specifications. According to the leaked spec sheet, it is said that the flagship device has a 5.7-inch HDR 4K screen and is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC.
The Sony H8541 will run on Android 8.0 Oreo just out of the box. What sets the phone apart from other flagship Sony smartphones launched this year is the design. Although it is said that Sony is still using the 16: 9 ratio screen, it seems that the Sony H8541 will have the finest bevels that have been seen so far in an Xperia device. The user of Reddit, Piastavgo, created some models based on the filtered dimensions, giving an idea of what to expect.
The Sony H8541 rumor specifications are :
- 5.7-inch (3840 x 2160 pixels) 4K HDR TRILUMINOS Display with X-Reality and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection
- Octa-Core Processor Snapdragon 835 with Adreno 540 GPU
- 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory, expandable memory with microSD card
- Android 8.0 (Oreo)
- Nano SIM
- Water resistant (IP65 / IP68)
- Dimensions: 149 x 74 x 7.5 mm
- 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / GLONASS, NFC, USB type-C
- 3420mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0
Unfortunately, the details regarding the camera and other features are still unknown. The Snapdragon 835 is this year's flagship chipset that will be phased out by the Snapdragon 845 next year. The reason why Sony decided to go with a one-year SoC is mainly because of the time. The launch of the Sony H8541 is scheduled for the MWC in February, while the Snapdragon 845 will be available for other brands only after Samsung launches its flagship series S.
